I don’t know about you, but I had a few really dark, blah weeks during this quarantine. That means I didn’t do much more than I had to. Stress was high working at home with my boys–brothers, 10 and 8–and their schoolwork. I did not accomplish any masterpieces over the weeks, but, I did pull off this cool marker doodle on an unbroken taekwondo board (because, sometimes, you don’t break them all).
Click on the little pictures below to see the board (find all the words):

I was still feeling unaccomplished because I haven’t written anything in a while. Sort of. I’m always jotting down random lines in random places, so I went through my stuff and found some stuff:
Done
I won’t beg for more
or settle for less.
This is just
the way we went.
A Good Poem
It might feel bad now,
but it’s going to make you
write a good poem
one day.
We Sang Songs
When we sang songs,
everything was
We,
and now I think of you
when I sing.
My Moments
Tonight I let my hair
smell wild
as a campfire,
little sticky,
tangling strands
salted by a tipsy
drip of wine,
and there was a tune
and a warm sunset.
Poison
The more you want something,
the harder it is to touch
anything
else.
Love Always
I always
still love you
a little bit,
but I’ll never
admit it.
Ready
It’s a blank page;
it doesn’t know what I feel
yet.
